Resort Review: Saratoga Springs Resort

Saratoga Springs is a Disney Deluxe Villa property. There are studio, 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom (or Grand Villa) rooms.

Saratoga Springs is a Disney Vacation Club property, but they also have cash rooms, so you do not have to be a member to stay at this resort.

The Studio includes a queen sized bed, a sleeper sofa and a kitchenette.
The 1-bedroom includes a full-sized kitchen, a master bedroom with a king sized bed, a sleeper sofa in the living room, and a large bathroom with a separate shower and jacuzzi tub. There is also a washer and dryer.
The 2-bedroom includes everything in the 1-bedroom with a studio attached, acting as the second bedroom.

Studio Villa

Studio kitchenette has a fridge, microwave, toaster, 12-cup coffee pot. Also includes coffee cups, glasses, paper bowls, paper plates and plastic wear.

Vanity is outside the main bathroom to make it easy to get ready for the day.

Ground floor rooms have patios, upper floors have balconies.

This resort is located near Downtown Disney, you can take a relaxing boat ride directly to Pleasure Island in Downtown Disney.

Love this boat ride!

We have stayed at this resort twice, once in a 1-bedroom and once in a studio. While I do like this resort and find it lovely, it is not a favorite of mine. I can't even explain really why it isn't a favorite of mine, there isn't anything obvious that sticks out and I know many people find Saratoga Springs as their "second home". I guess it's just one of those things you can chalk up to different tastes! With all that said, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to someone if the look and amenities struck them.

High Rock Spring Pool includes a water slide, "kiddy" water slide, 2 hot tubs and a pool bar.

The Quick Service restaurant has easels for the kids to draw on

Pros:

Large villas to fit family gatherings
Full size kitchens make it easy to cook a few meals
Free laundry in a 1, 2 and 3 bedroom. There is a public laundry room you can use if you stay in a studio. If you are staying on Disney Vacation Club points, as a member you get free laundry even in the public laundry room as a perk.
Great pools! There are several pools at Saratoga Springs. Both the High Rock Spring Pool and the Paddock Pool offer water slides. The Grandstand pool is also themed. All three of these offer a quick service dining location/pool bar.
Walking distance, or a relaxing boat ride, to Downtown Disney.
There is a spa and golf course as part of this resort.
Very nice gift shop and quick service restaurant, Artist's Palette. Table service restaurant is the Turf Club which gets solid reviews and is easy to get into any day of the year.

Cons:

Villas have a higher price-point. More space=higher price tag.
Location. This can be a pro, being close to Downtown Disney, but it is further away from the theme parks (which can also be a pro in some cases!)
Large resort. The buses can take a while to circle the resort before they leave for the theme park due to the size.
