During our September 2013 Walt Disney World trip my six-year old son had mustered up the courage to fight this bad dude:
Darth Vader.
Yep, that's right! My six-year old took him on in an epic battle
right in Disney's Hollywood Studios!
This is, in my opinion, one of the most unique attractions at Walt Disney World.
Kids ages 4 to 12 can don a robe,
 |
| Despite his shirt this Padawan was not rooting for the dark side! |
take the Jedi Oath and learn skills from a Jedi Master.
Once they learned a few skills and can yield their light saber with skill
they will have to defend themselves against Darth Vader! But don't worry, the Jedi Master is right there by their side, walking them through the actions they have just learned. (and he's quite entertaining for the adults in the audience watching their kiddos battle!)
After each child has had their turn battling Darth Vader they will receive a certificate that declares them a Padawan student, worthy of the training to become a Jedi.
This is a truly unforgettable experience for any Star Wars fan!
A few tips:
- There are various shows throughout the day. The slots fill QUICKLY. Arrive at Hollywood Studios prior to park opening and at least one adult should take the child(ren) directly to the sign up, which is currently at the ABC Sound Stage. The Cast Members will assign you a show time.
- This attraction is currently not available on FastPass+.
- During the popular spring event, Star Wars Weekends, there are more shows per day, but they fill even more quickly!
- A MemoryMaker/PhotoPass photographer will be on hand to take pictures of your child during their training and battle. They do a great job!! You must have purchased the MemoryMaker/PhotoPass in order to obtain rights to these pictures.
- The children do not get to keep the robe or light saber; however, both are for sale in the nearby gift shop. (yep, that was the 3rd light saber we've brought home! Ha!)
